Electrical services for landlords

Electrical installation condition reports (EICR)

It is recommended that a rented property has an electrical inspection at least every 3 to five years. An electrical installation condition report is an important document to have and proves that, as a landlord, you have taken the steps to ensure the safety of your tenants.

PAT testing

As a landlord, you have a duty to ensure that all electrics in your property(s) are safe and in full working order before any new tenants move in. This includes all white goods and any electrical appliances supplied for use, even if they are brand new.

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms

It is a legal requirement to have at least 1 smoke alarm installed on each story of your property(s). Carbon monoxide alarms will also be required in any rooms that contain a solid fuel appliance. If you are unsure what needs to be installed, Abbott Contractors are more than happy to advise you on the most suitable alarms.
